A superb piece of Japanese psychobilly here from the Mad Mongols’ upright bass player. Mad Masato’s style is slap-happy and fast, heavy at times and melodic throughout. This Japanese dude knows how to write catchy sing-along songs by blending punk, hardcore, and rockabilly. Mad Masato gives a noteworthy double bass performance on this mini CD and the guitars are thick and mixed to compliment the bass slapping and growling vocals. Mad Masato’s vocals paired alongside the female vocals on track #4 further illustrates the Masato’s great songwriting choices. Sakura is an import CD and if you check around online, you’re not going to find it new anywhere else at this kind of price.
